Encyclopedia - Airbus H120 / Eurocopter EC120 Colibri

As a modernisation of the Aerospatiale Gazelle, Airbus Helicopters, then Eurocopter developed the five seat tingle engine light helicopter.

The prototype first flew in June of 2005, and in February 2007 the EC120 was officially launched at the Helicopter Association International in California, USA.

the EC120 has a three-bladed main rotor and an 8-bladed enclosed fenestron tail rotor. The blades of the tail rotor is not spaced equally radially to overcome the squealing noise associated with the Gazelle
