Encyclopedia - AgustaWestland AW009

First announced at Heli-Expo 2016, the AgustaWestland AW009 was born from the rebranding of the SW-4 light single helicopter produced by its Polish subsidiary PZL Swidnik.

The glass cockpit will be provided by Genesys Aerosystems and is common to the larger AW109 Trekker, its skid-equipped light twin.

The helicopter will be ideally suited to EMS operations, police duties and private operators in the US while Finmeccanica Helicopter intends to retain the SW-4 designation for the military market.
